Ed Eidelman holds a B.A. and M.A., Summa Cum Laude from the State University College of Buffalo. Ed taught High School and College for ten years, including six years at Dieruff and two years at Muhlenberg College in the early 1970’s. He left a Ph.D. program in History at Lehigh University to earn a law degree at Seton Hall Law School in 1979. He started his career doing antitrust litigation at Cohen, Shapiro, a large Philadelphia law firm. Ed spent eight years honing his trial skills as a Lehigh County Public Defender while building his own practice as an Associate at Stamberg & Caplan in Allentown. Ed practiced as a partner with several other firms including, Kasick, Eidelman & Madey and Black, McCarthy, Eidelman. Eidelman & Eidelman, before Ed joined Peter J. Karoly & Associates in 1996, where he remained until Peter’s untimely death in 2007. Ed has been a trial lawyer for over 34 years. He’s won acquittals in first-degree homicide as a criminal defense attorney as well as obtaining a medical malpractice verdict in excess of $24 million.
His trial experience runs the gamut: he’s tried cases in medical malpractice, products liability, auto collisions, personal injury, contracts, trademarks, and civil rights. He’s won many of these and successfully settled many more. He’s acted as counsel for local diagnostic imaging centers, restaurants, and the Allentown Ambassadors minor league baseball team. He also General Counsel and Vice President of a national company engaged in electronic management and archiving of radiological imaging.
Ed is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, numerous Federal District Courts, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and a Fellow of the American Association of Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America). He is also a member of the Lehigh County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.
